Helicopter Parts to Iran

This case study represents one of a series of indictments released in December 2012, announcing charges against four individuals involved in the illegal exports of goods with military and dual use purposes to Iran. Amir Abbas Tamimi was an Iranian citizen who lived in Iran and arranged for the export of helicopter parts from the United States to Iran. Tamimi was arrested at John F. Kennedy Airport as he entered the United States on the 5th October 2012. He was arraigned in a federal court in Manhattan on the 9th October 2012 and was being held on charges of illegal export to Iran as of December 2012.
